Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
                                                                                                                                                               John 14:27

I'm not a happy flier.  Given a choice, I'll choose to travel by auto or train rather than fly to my destination.  When I do fly, it's hard to put aside my fears so I spend a good portion of any flight in prayer.

One flight was different from the others I've made.  I'd been reading a spiritual book, and as I prayed and reflected, I reached a new understanding.

All things work for good, for those who trust the Lord, yes?  (Romans 8:28)  I've taken comfort from this truth all my life.  During the flight, it suddenly hit me that my fear represented a lack of belief that, truly, all things do work for good.

As I reflected on that idea, I realiazed that I do believe it to be true.  That being the case, what had I to fear?  I felt tremendous comfort and finally relaxed.

I hope this verse brings you comfort, too, and allows you to release the fears and what-ifs that make life so tense.
